Kayak for the Kure
Introducing Kayak for the Kure: a way to get our on the water, have fun with friends and benefit Relay for Life. Kayak for the Kure is for first time and experienced paddlers. It is not a tour: we aim to improve our paddling skills, get some exercise and enjoy the evening on the water. We depart from our dock downtown and take a route that will make the best of the prevailing wind and tide conditions. We may kayak Ketchikan creek, explore Pennock Island, or head north to Bar Harbor.

How to Join Kayak for the Kure
We do not take reservations for Kayak for the Kure: we take the first 12 people to arrive at the ramp next to the Fish House after 5:15pm on Thursdays. Please be punctual as we aim to depart at 5:30pm. We provide sprayskirts, lifejackets and all paddling equipment. Please dress in warm, loose fitting clothing and bring a rain jacket and rain pants if the weather is wet. Everyone loves to get outside on sunny days but paddlers should be aware that sunny days are often breezy and can require more exertion. Light rain and misty days are actually the best kayaking weather in downtown Ketchikan!
