Summer is almost here and we are looking forward to a great season of paddling with lots of sunshine. Here's what's happening at Southeast Sea Kayaks in our store and for locals.
New Kayaks & Gear in Stock Current Designs Kayaks
We love selling Current Designs Kayaks because there is a kayak to suit every person and paddling interest. We have Current Designs Storms, Solstices, Siroccos, Breezes and Squalls in stock. We can also special order any kayak from Current Designs extensive line. Learn more at their website www.cdkayak.com or stop by our store for a catalog. We have a wide range of Current Designs kayaks available to test paddle right from our dock.
Advanced Elements Inflatable Kayaks
Advanced Elements Advanced Frame Kayaks are the cutting edge of inflatable kayak technology. At only 36lbs for the 10 foot model, these kayaks are perfect for floatplane trips or storing aboard boats. The Advanced Elements kayaks are tough, comfortable, easy to set up, very stable and completely portable. The price is amazing, only $449 for the 10’ Advanced Frame model. We have one set up in the store, stop by and take it out for a test paddle!
MTI Life Jackets for Women, Kids and Adults
MTI makes a great range of kayaking lifejackets to suit every size and budget. Come in to the store and try out the PFDiva, a customizable PFD designed for women or the MTI toddler and kids life jackets which are suitable for use on boats and kayaks.
Kayak Divas Tuesdays 5:30pm - 7:30pm $15 per person or bring your kayak and paddle free
Join us on Tuesday evenings for our women only Kayak Diva Paddles. Beginners are welcome. We aim to meet at 5:15pm, be on the water by 5:30pm and return to the dock at 7:30pm. Fun and good excercise. Bring rain gear and a water bottle.
Locals Paddles 2:30pm Every Sunday $25 per person or Free if you bring your own kayak
A fun and affordable way for locals to experience kayaking for the first time or improve their skills and fitness. We meet at Southeast Sea Kayaks at the Westflight Building at 2:30pm and aim to be back on the dock by 5pm. Come and join us! No experience required just enthusiasm and rain gear. Call in on Sunday to check on the weather and let us know how many people are paddling.

Kayak Lessons - Special Rate in May $99
Our sea kayaking basics lesson is 4.5 hours long.The lesson covers self-rescue techniques essential for anyone who plans to kayak our chilly waters. The basics lesson is suitable for first time kayakers and for people who have paddled but want to practice their rescues. Each lesson is tailored to the goals of the participants. We provide all the kayaking gear necessary, dry suits and booties. Participants should dress in several warm layers and bring water and snacks. Lessons are Saturday Mornings in May and other times by request. Call for details 225-1258.
