Bear
Proof Boxes
Bear proof boxes will protect your food and easily fit inside the kayak.
These are same boxes that are used by the National Park Service in Denali,
Glacier Bay and Yosemite. Boxes are very useful also to divide your
food into breakfast, lunch and supper. They also protect food from mice
and other critters. Each box holds about six days of food for one person.

Lessons
Southeast Sea Kayaks provides basic lessons in kayaking skills
and open water rescues. Lessons run $119 per person for a full day class.
The cost includes use of a drysuit and all paddling equipment and kayaks. Should you provide your own drysuit we will reduce the cost by $20. Lessons are taught to American Canoe Association standards and include solo and assisted rescue techniques, paddling strokes, basic safety and launching techniques. Paddlers should come with a packed lunch, warm fleece clothing, thick wool socks and if you wear glasses, with eye glass retainers. Classes are 4 hours long and can be scheduled almost any time. Please call to arrange a suitable time.
